Aki Omoshaybi

 

Is an actor, dancer, writer, director hailing from London. He started his career out as an actor working in theatre with companies such as Kneehigh and the RSC. He also Starred in many plays and musicals in London’s West End. Such as Hairspray, Hair (broadway), Westside Story, Chariots of Fire, Umbrella’s of Cherbourg. While in theatre he also used to do dance campaigns for fashion brands Burberry and Armani. He then went on to work in TV & Film and can be seen in theatrical releases ‘Stars Wars: The Last Jedi’ ‘A Moving Image’ ‘The Riot Club’ ‘Burning Men’. And for tv ‘Dr Who’ ‘Sick of it’ and ‘Defending the guilty’.

Aki always had a creative mindset and it was while working in TV and Film he became fascinated with every aspect of filming making, in front and behind the camera. Which led him to set up his own production company ‘Small Long Productions’. Since setting up his own company in under two years he has made a short film called SPILT and he debut feature called ‘REAL’.

He wrote, directed, produced and starred in both films. SPILT was recently nominated at The British Urban Film Festival and the Groucho Film Festival. It also received distribution offer from ‘Shorts on Tap’.

His debut feature REAL has distribution deal with Verve Pictures and will have a theatrical release later on in the year. It will also have it’s world premier at the 63rd BFI London Film Festival in October.
